What is the Narrowest System Available for Smaller Windows?

Fixed, non-operational shades can be made to any dimension and match the look of your other window shades if applicable. For a functional shade, depending on your measurements and the width to height ratio, we may or may not be able to create an operable shade.

How Should I Clean the Fabrics?

Sun Screen Interior Sun Control Fabrics:

Use a mild detergent, brush and rinse.

ELT and EPT fabrics:

• Dust or surface dirt – Clean with a clothing brush or carefully vacuum.
• Mild stains – wipe with a damp cloth.
• Tough stains – a mild soapy water can be used, then left to dry. Do not use spot cleaners or solvents.
• Creases can be steamed out or laid flat on a cloth and gently ironed at the lowest setting.

Translucent, Transparent, Privacy, and Opaque Fabrics:

Can be lightly vacuumed or gently wiped with a damp cloth. Do not soak, scrub or use any other solvents.

Vinyl Fabrics:

Material can be washed on both sides using warm water and a mild 5% detergent solution. If using soap/detergent, test on inconspicuous area first. Roll shade to fully down position to dry.

Can Less Opaque Fabric Be Lined with Blackout Fabric?

No. This would impede operation of the shade.

Can You Add a Liner to the Back of Roman Shade Fabrics?

We do not do this in-house. However, you can take the fabric to be lined elsewhere if desired.

How Can I Get an ETA for My Order?

Please refer to the target date listed on your sales order confirmation for the estimated date that your order will be ready for pickup or ready to ship out from our facility.

There’s a Problem with My Shades, How Can I Get It Fixed?

If your product is under warranty, please contact our customer service team to request an RMA number and initiate the process to have any issues with your shades corrected.

I Have Older Sun Glow Shades, Will You Fix Them Outside of Warranty?

Yes. We will repair shades out of warranty. Please send us the details of the issue and we will provide an estimated repair cost before proceeding.

How Do I Calculate the Size for Panels on My Panel Track?

The minimum panel width is 16″ and the maximum panel width is 48″. Panels can either be set to centre split, stack left, or stack right. A 5 channel track is required for all centre split applications.

Panel Width Calculation

Panels overlap by approximately 2″. To determine the approximate width of each panel, divide the total width of the panel track system by the number of panels and add the following:

• 1″ for 3 panels 1-3/8″ for 5 panels
• 1-1/4″ for 4 panels 1-1/2″ for 6 panels
• 1-1/4″ for 4 panels 1-5/8″ for 8 panels

Panel Height Calculation

Sun Glow will deduct 1/2″ from the height of the panel track when “tight” measurement is specified on the order form. No deductions are taken on “finished” measurements. When using “finished” measurements, Sun Glow recommends a height deduction of a minimum of 1/2″ in order to accommodate uneven floors and ceilings.

Which Fabrics Are Suitable for Graphic Shades?

Solid fabrics like vinyl will yield the best results with respect to colour clarity and fine detail. Also providing excellent results are sunscreen fabrics with the smallest openness factors such as 1% and 3%.

Colours show best on fabrics that are white, or similar such as, oyster, bone or chalk. Colours in beige or ivory tones will yield less vivid colours.

White ink is also available for printing on dark fabrics.

What Size Can a Graphic Shade Be Printed?

We can print an unseamed image up to 122″ (3.09m) wide to the length of the roll. By seaming, the image size is virtually limitless.

What Are the Image Specifications for Graphic Shades?

Images should be a minimum of 100 ppi (pixels per inch, or dots per inch) at the intended print size. 300 ppi or higher is recommended for best quality of graphics that will be seen at a closer distance.
