Radio Technology Somfy®

Radio Technology Somfy® (RTS) is Somfy’s exclusive control platform which enables users to adjust motorized window coverings anywhere in the home. RTS is at the heart of many Somfy control options, from simple and intuitive remotes to fully integrated systems.

Zigbee 3.0

The Zigbee 3.0 protocol is an interoperable, globally adopted and secure IoT solution used to connect smart home devices to a consistent network and language. Zigbee creates an ecosystem of products that work seamlessly together, and that ecosystem now includes products from Somfy North America, easing the integration process and increasing comfort for end users.

Control Somfy’s line of Zigbee motors via the new TaHoma Switch,  Ysia remotes, or Zigbee enabled smart home systems.

TaHoma™

Control your window coverings, rolling shutters with a smartphone, tablet or simple voice commands.

A single smart hub platform for RTS, Zigbee and future ecosystems, Somfy’s TaHoma switch uses technology that’s open and forward-looking. Live a more comfortable and convenient life with intuitive control of both natural and artificial lighting, and the ability to configure your smart home via leading consumer platforms.

Somfy Digital Network (SDN)

The Somfy Digital Network (SDN 2.0) is the latest generation of bus-line enabled Intelligent Tubular Motors and Smart Switch Controls. The SDN components are integrated into a cost effective system designed to operate a wide range of end products over a standard RS-485 network compatible with the latest home automation systems.

Power Distribution Panels – For Sonesse 30 RTS & Sonesse Ultra 50 DC RTS

If you’re looking to power several motors with direct DC power, the most elegant way to deliver power to several motors is with a Sun Glow power distribution panel.

  • Available in 5, 10, 15, and 20 motor configurations.
  • 5 motor panel measures 12″ x 12″ x 6.25″
  • 10, 15, and 20 motor panels measure 18″ x 18″ x 6.25″
  • Panel power supplies power at 24V DC, and 10 amps per 5 motors.
  • Panels connect to any 110V outlet via a 6′ long cable and NEMA plug.

Multiple Power Options

Each Somfy offers one or more power options that suit the intended applications of each motor.  Hardwiring, DC plugin, AC plugin, external battery packs, plug-in charging, solar packs, power distribution panels, and quick connect cables are some of the options available.

Pushing the Limits

With windows getting bigger and taller, demand for larger motorization options is on the rise.  Most windows aren’t wired up for automated shades, so wire-free systems are being asked to perform ever more heavy lifting.  Thankfully, our product technicians are always testing and perfecting our systems and pushing our limit sizes.  We have developed custom-made crown and idle end adapters that allow us to use larger 2″ tubes for wire-free systems, but with the following limitations.

Larger wire-free shades will require more frequent recharges.
Warranty on the motor will be reduced to 2 years

Somfy U

For more than 25 years, Somfy has developed training programs intended for the professional installation of motorized interior window coverings, awnings, exterior solar screens and rolling shutters.

Somfy’s new e-learning platform provides access to on demand training as well as live training events. With Somfy U, you can complete Somfy training courses at your own pace and on your own time. Forget about making time in your busy schedule to attend mandatory scheduled events. Instead, you can move through most courses when it’s convenient for you.
